Must Read : Strategy For AFCAT Written Exam.

AFCAT Written exam comprises 4 sections -
  • Section A - English Language and Comprehension
  • Section B - General Awareness and Studies
  • Section C - Quantitative Aptitude
  • Section D - Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Number of Questions in the paper - 100
Time given                                   -   2 hours
Marking Pattern                           -   +3 for right and -1 for wrong

Question Distributions ( approx.)

  Sections                                      A                       B                       C                          D

As one can easily forecast that in the next exam also they will follow the almost same pattern. The standard of paper is really very easy but only for those who have taken this exam seriously and started preparing for it.
Time given is more than enough.

Our Target is to score 210 + . " Saam Daam Dand Bhed "Apply anything but you have to cross this benchmark.  Lakhs of student will give this exam after all  AFCAT is a national level exam but only few hundreds will read this article . So those who are reading this i am giving you a mantra " Only and Only hard work and your efforts will lead you towards your destination. So if you are still day dreaming that when i will get selected i will do this or i will do that or I will look so handsome/ beautiful in the uniform bla bla bla things than immediately stop doing that.

Forgot everything about SSB. Do not . I repeat Do not practice any stuff related to SSB ,15 or 20 days before the exam. Only Concentrate on your written exams.

Section A - This section comprises questions like Comprehension, Synonyms , Antonyms , Grammatical Errors. R.S. Agarwals " Objective General English " Published S. chand is more than enough.Only practice is required . So keep practicing. The more you practice the more you get familiar with your mistakes and than you can improve it.

Section B - Lucents General Knowledge "yellow wali " is more than enough. Most of the questions come from history , geography and current affairs . In lucent you will find a factual collection of data. Read and Revise as frequently as u can. For current affairs read news paper regularly specially the sports section. Do not get in to minute details. They never ask.

Section C - For Quantitative Apt. again R.S. Agarwals books is sufficient. Only Practice is required.

For the above three sections you can easily complete more than 50% of questions if you a normal average student. Always remember they are not looking for IAS they just want a normal guy with  a normal knowledge.

Section D - The most important and tricky section. This section plays very important role in getting good score. Again R.S. agarwals verbal and non verbal is enough. Do not consider this section as exam point of view. Reasoning is very interesting . Consider you are with your friend circle and playing puzzle games. A human mind is enough grown to solve such questions . Coaching institute provide some short cuts and other tricks but AFCAT standard is very average. You only require a cool and calm mind to solve this sections. Practice hard.

Friends do not make guess. This will lead you to very danger situation. Tukka never works ( leaving few exceptions) .

One can easily score 210 above if  they divide the time and sections .

  • The time you get question paper start solving those questions for which you are 100% sure. Their will be some questions which will look very easy like the questions based on BODMAS but those are very time taking if you do not the trick. So tick the answers of only those questions for which you are 100% sure.
  • In the second round start solving those which are quiet time taking but you know that you can solve it.
  • If you are done and still you have time left than try to solve questions from reasoning and quantitative aptitude.
  • I am telling you again guyz reasoning comprises almost 40 questions you can easily get 100 marks in this section only. Read questions very carefully with calm mind. Questions are really very very easy.
  • Agar kuch bhi na bane to yahin sochna ki jis bhi god ko mante ho aage piche waale usi ka roop hain aur vo tumhari madad karne aaye hain..

Practice from previous years question papers - Remember 210 +

  5. Sir, could you please direct me to the best coaching (according to you) for the AFCAT Written exam? Most importantly what I want to know is that, is coaching really required for it? I mean all these coaching centers say that if one wants to crack this exam he/she needs to join this and that coaching. Is it true? Secondly, I've been doing self-study till now and the exam is, perhaps, on 23rd Feb. So, if a coach is really that important I can't waste more of my time doing it all by myself. Sir, only you can help me out now! Please tell me what to do at this very moment and pull me out of this confusion. Thank you.
